Dr Mohamed Mahgoub is my Oncologist and endeavours to seek medical intervention and treatment to aid my condition. This helps me to continue to live a near normal life with minimal side effects from all the treatment he advises me to take. He is continually following up and researching better ways to treat cancer patients not just me and when i am in hospital he goes out of his way to visit me and ask how I'm doing which is very satisfying.
Thank you very much for this kind words.
Exceptional Doctor.
He was fantastic looking after my Father, and we were very sorry he ended up leaving the Leicester Royal.
The other oncologists there are not a patch on him.
Dr. Mahgoub kept me in informed when I was going through investigations/scans following a a localised return of cancer. When a decision was made regarding no treatment at present by an MDTwhich he was not part of and did not agree with, he followed it up and the decision was reversed. He then took time to go all through the course of events with me and I was referred for radiotherapy.
This happened during the Covid lockdown via phone calls and finally a face to face consultation. I was grateful for the in person appt. and felt reassured during this difficult time.
He listened, he was compassionate. He explains the situation with out jargon. He does not act "the expert" He was not arrogant. Some Dr's think they listen but often are more concerned with their own opinion and don't listen fully to the patient. What Carl Rogers would call Patient Centered.
This doctor has no ego in the best way possible, he puts his patients first and is a brilliant doctor. He is caring, breaks down complex medical information to make it accessible to his patients and meets them where they are. He is professional and goes above and beyond to provide excellent care to his patients. The care he has offered is exemplary and I could not have asked for better for my mum. I feel a high level of trust in him to oversee my mums care and it feels like he is overseeing everything. His bedside manner is brilliant. I hope he gets to train other doctors as he is a rare sort.
